CharlotteBegin your Vietnam adventure with arrival in Hanoi. Our private driver will greet you at the airport, holding a sign with your name, and ensure a comfortable transfer to your accommodation in the city centre.
You’ll be staying just a short stroll from the vibrant Old Quarter, an ideal base for exploration. Spend your time unwinding at the hotel or venture out to discover the city's unique charm at your own pace.
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, before our knowledgeable English-speaking guide escorts you to Ba Vi, a scenic rural area situated on the outskirts of Hanoi. Your journey begins at Ri Village, where we receive a warm welcome with local drinks and snacks.
You'll meet Mr. Duoc, a Vietnam War veteran and owner of a tea farm. He shares captivating stories of his wartime experiences, providing a unique perspective on Vietnam's history. Afterwards, we'll explore his tea plantation, learning the art of selecting the finest tea leaves to produce Vietnam’s renowned beverage. Participate in the tea production process at his quaint workshop, which still relies on traditional, manual methods.
Next, we take a short drive to Moc Village to meet Mrs. Chin. She will guide you in cooking authentic Vietnamese dishes, which we will then savour for lunch in a lush tropical garden setting. After enjoying your creations, take a brief rest before joining Mrs. Chin for a stroll around the village. This is an opportunity to visit local families and gain insight into rural life, witnessing the making of tofu, conical hats, and other local crafts.
You can then enjoy a leisurely bicycle ride through picturesque paddy fields. We conclude our countryside exploration with a traditional foot soak in warm, herb-infused water - a soothing practice from the Muong ethnic minority to unwind after your cycling adventure.
Later, you'll be comfortably transferred from Ba Vi back to your accommodation for an overnight stay in Hanoi.
In the morning, we'll check out of the hotel and be collected by the Cruise team. Our journey to Halong Bay will follow the most scenic route through the Red River Delta, where expansive fields of emerald-green rice paddies stretch into the distance.
Upon arrival at the pier, we'll board the cruise and take in the stunning views of limestone rocks and karst grottoes. A sumptuous seafood lunch awaits, after which you can revel in the scenery from the sundeck as we explore the Bay.
The cruise will then take us to a secluded spot where you can kayak or swim, allowing you to get up close to the remarkable karst formations. As evening approaches, we'll return to the boat for an early dinner, followed by leisure time. You may choose to participate in optional onboard activities or simply unwind.
Start your day early with a sunrise viewing, a magnificent natural spectacle, followed by breakfast in the dining room. Participate in a Tai Chi class on the sun deck to invigorate your mind and body. We'll then explore a limestone cave, adorned with impressive stalagmites and stalactites.
After our exploration, return to the boat, check out, and enjoy a brunch as we cruise back to the harbour. Afterwards, we'll transfer you to your accommodation in Hanoi.
Enjoy your final moments in Hanoi before we provide a private transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue, another driver will be waiting to take you to your accommodation. The remainder of the day is yours to explore or relax at your leisure.
Discover the imperial city of Hue's rich tradition of kite making this morning. At 08:30, your guide will meet you to begin an exploration of Hue’s cultural heritage alongside a local artisan. We will cycle 3 miles to the home of our instructor, a passionate third-generation kite maker.
Upon arrival, tour his home and learn about the history of kite flying in Vietnam - a pastime once enjoyed by Nguyen Dynasty aristocrats and mandarins. Step into his workshop to see traditional kite-making techniques in action. With expert guidance, you’ll have the opportunity to paint your own kite. Although it requires precision, your instructor will ensure you craft a personal masterpiece.
Conclude your kite-making session with a unique handmade souvenir, celebrating Hue’s artistic legacy. Afterward, pause at a local cafe to enjoy a cup of authentic Vietnamese coffee, before cycling back to your hotel.
Experience a quintessential part of Vietnamese culture with a cyclo ride through the vibrant streets of Hue. We will meet in the hotel lobby at 08:00 am and embark on a journey through the historic "Old City" on this unique mode of transport. As you sit back and relax, we'll cross the iconic Truong Tien Bridge over the picturesque Huong River.
Our first stop is the Imperial Citadel, the seat of power for Vietnam's last feudal dynasty from 1802 to 1945. Explore the architectural grandeur and delve into the rich history of the Nguyen emperors.
Following this, we will visit the Royal Antiquities Museum, home to a fascinating array of artefacts. Discover the elegance of bronze pottery, Chinaware, Phap Lam enamel, and the opulent garments of past rulers. This is a chance to deepen your understanding of Vietnam's imperial legacy.
Afterwards, we'll jump back on the cyclo for a brief ride to Dong Ba Market. Here, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere, wandering through the bustling stalls and engaging with local vendors.
Enjoy your final hours in Hue before your private driver takes you to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, another driver will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in the city centre. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at leisure.
