  • Our brochures (you can download above) details packing lists but essentials are a pair of hiking boots and a day pack you have worn and found comfortable during training.

  • Most trekking can take place all year but the best times are throughout spring or the autumn months. In spring you are likely to see peak expeditions which normally aim to summit around May, and in autumn the skies are generally the clearest of the year.

  • You’ll stay in tea houses during the trek. Some are very basic and some with modern facilities. All serve food.

  • What is the food like?

  • There are measures which will give you a good chance to curb altitude sickness. The main measure is to spend time acclimatising. As a result we’d recommend arriving in Kathmandu a day or two early to get used to the altitude. Kathmandu sits at 1,400 meters above sea level and whilst not high, is a good start. During the trek we’d suggest taking your time. The trek is not a race and it is important to listen to your body.

  • Absolutely. You need insurance which covers you for high altitude trekking, emergency repatriation and helicopter evacuation.

  • Yes, you do, but these will all be taken care of when you make your booking and they’re already included in the price.
