Embark on an unforgettable eight-day journey through Scotland’s rolling hills, ancient ruins and the less-visited East Coast. Walk through the historic Royal Mile with an expert historian in Edinburgh, join a guided tour of Stirling Castle – the childhood home of Mary, Queen of Scots – and cruise the serene waters of Loch Lomond. Take a tartan weaving workshop, sit down to a malt whisky tasting at a local distillery along the Speyside Whisky Trail and explore the Isle of Skye on a daytrip through rugged landscapes. Enjoy free time to explore at your own pace and unwind at your Feature Stay in Meldrum house – a 13th-century mansion in the Aberdeenshire countryside.
Tour highlights:
- Spend two nights on the Isle of Skye – known for its medieval castles and fishing villages. Take a daytrip through the island’s beautiful landscapes and visit rock formations and medieval castle ruins like Old Man of Storr and Fairy Glen.
- Cruise the serene waters of Loch Lomond past Ben Lomond and Inchmurrin Island – home to the ancient ruins of Lennox Castle and the former King of Scotland. Soak in the scenery of shoreline castles and keep an eye out for the legendary Nessie!
- Join a walking tour of Glasgow with purpose, led by someone who has previously been homeless. See some of the city’s most well-known landmarks, support a social enterprise and hear personal insights into the city’s past, present and future from your guide.
- Take a guided tour of Stirling Castle, the childhood home of Mary Queen of Scots, and see Dunnottar Castle – a ruined medieval fortress on the rocky headland above Stonehaven’s coast.
- Try your hand at tartan weaving during a workshop at Radical Weavers in Stirling, then taste your way through the ‘Malt Whisky Country’ during your visit to a local distillery along the Speyside Whisky Trail.
