CharlotteYour journey begins with your arrival in Vietnam. A private driver will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Once checked in, you can relax and unwind after your flight. If you arrive early in the afternoon, you have the option to explore the vibrant streets of the city. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest metropolis, presents a fascinating mix of historic charm and modernity, offering an array of architectural marvels and diverse goods to discover.
Join us on a journey to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels, an essential site for those intrigued by the Vietnam War's history. Located about 60km from Ho Chi Minh City, this vast network of over 220 km of tunnels played a crucial role in the resistance against US forces. Designated as a heroic district, the tunnels are now a significant historical landmark.
We depart at 8:00 AM from the Vietnam Adventure Tours office or your hotel in District 1. Along the way, savour views of lush rice fields and spot ducks and water buffaloes in the rivers—images hard to reconcile with the area's past devastation as a "free target zone."
Upon arrival, we'll explore the tunnels, winding through their hidden passages to envisage the life of resistance soldiers. You can try cooking with the smokeless stoves used during the war or sample the humble fare that sustained the soldiers. For the adventurous, there's an opportunity to fire an AK-47, a weapon synonymous with the conflict.
We'll return to the city in the afternoon, concluding the tour at 2:30 PM.
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before departing from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang Airport. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you for the transfer to Hoi An. After checking in at your hotel, you can unwind at the resort or relax on the beach.
In the evening, consider exploring Hoi An's enchanting Old Town, which is renowned for its silk lantern production. The town is beautifully illuminated by these lanterns, and the lantern market is a particular highlight.
Following your market visit, catch a glimpse of traditional Vietnamese culture at the outdoor theatre on Nguyen Thai Hoc street. The free performances, featuring folk dancers and musicians, run from 9pm to 10pm and are accessible to all passers-by.
Before heading back to your hotel, take part in the local tradition of placing a lit candle box on the water. Local children offer these candles along the channel—make a wish as you release yours.
We begin the day by collecting you from your hotel in the centre of Hoi An. Our first stop is the Museum of Folk Culture, where we explore exhibits showcasing the rich traditions and daily life of the region.
Next, we visit the Old House of Tan Ky, a beautifully preserved 18th-century merchant's residence that offers a glimpse into Hoi An's trading history. We continue to the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, an architectural symbol of the town built in the 16th century to connect the Japanese and Chinese communities.
Our journey then takes us to the Fujian Assembly Hall, where you can admire intricate designs and learn about the spiritual practices of Hoi An's Fujian Chinese community. We wrap up the morning at an Art Craft Manufacturing Workshop, where you can observe skilled artisans at work.
At around 11:00 we engage in a hands-on lantern-making class, a unique opportunity to craft one of Hoi An's distinctive silk lanterns. This session lasts for one hour. Enjoy a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, savouring the authentic flavours of Vietnamese cuisine.
The tour concludes as we return you to your hotel, leaving you with a day rich in cultural discoveries and creative experiences.
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by leisurely free time before your evening flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival in this vibrant city, our driver will be there to greet you and transport you comfortably to your hotel. After a long day of travel, unwind and rest well.
Today we leave the city behind and travel to the countryside near Ba Vi, around 1.5 hours from Hanoi.
We begin with a visit to a local tea plantation where we meet a Vietnam War veteran who shares stories about village life and tea farming. We then learn how tea leaves are harvested on the plantation.
Later, we continue to Moc Village for a cooking class with a local host, followed by lunch featuring the dishes we prepare together.
In the afternoon, we explore the village to see traditional local crafts, including tofu making and conical hat production. We also cycle through rice paddies and small villages, offering a closer look at daily rural life.
Before returning to Hanoi, we enjoy a traditional herbal foot soak inspired by Muong ethnic minority remedies.
Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a breathtaking natural wonder. After breakfast, we leave Hanoi, with our transfer collecting you from the hotel lobby between 8:00 and 9:00 am (we'll confirm the exact time the day prior). By noon, we'll reach the jetty and board our cruise.
Once on board, enjoy a welcoming drink and check in before savouring lunch. As we cruise past the bay's iconic islets, you'll witness stunning scenery transforming around you. In the afternoon, we offer activities such as swimming, kayaking, or exploring caves, depending on the specific itinerary of our boat. Alternatively, you can simply relax and soak up the tranquil atmosphere on deck.
As the day ends, the boat will anchor in a picturesque spot, providing a perfect setting for watching the sunset before dinner. We will spend the night on board.
Note: Should adverse weather prevent the boats from leaving the port, the itinerary may be altered or cancelled. Your travel consultant will organise alternative arrangements if necessary.
As dawn breaks over Halong Bay, we enjoy breakfast as our vessel leisurely makes its way back to the port. An early lunch is provided before we disembark. You will then be transferred back to Hanoi. The afternoon is yours to explore the vibrant city at your own pace.
Enjoy a leisurely day in Hanoi at your own pace. Explore the city's vibrant streets, savour local cuisine, or visit the many cultural and historical sites.
