Classic South India - 15 Days | The Holiday People
  • You’ll stay in a mix of 4- and 5-star hotels and boutique properties that reflect the local charm, with one memorable night aboard a private Kerala houseboat.

  • Breakfast is included daily, along with lunch and dinner on the houseboat in Alleppey and a packed lunch during the bamboo rafting in Thekkady. Additional meals can be arranged at your hotel or during sightseeing.

  • This is a private, tailor-made tour. You’ll have your own vehicle, driver, and local English-speaking guides at each destination, offering flexibility and personal attention throughout.

  • South India is a large region, so there are several intercity drives ranging from 2 to 4.5 hours. However, they are scenic and comfortably paced, with plenty of stops and breaks along the way.

  • The itinerary is moderate in activity level, involving walking tours, temple visits (often with steps), and a few nature-based activities. Most travellers in good health will find it very manageable.

  • Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is home to elephants, wild boars, monkeys, birds, and even tigers (though sightings are rare). The nature walk and bamboo rafting offer great chances to observe animals and birds in their natural habitat.

  • Yes. Most travellers require a visa to enter India. We recommend applying for an e-Tourist Visa online at www.indianvisaonline.gov.in at least 2 weeks before departure.

  • Lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal, along with comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and a modest outfit for temple visits (covering shoulders and knees). Don’t forget a hat, insect repellent, and a travel adapter for Indian sockets (Type C, D, or M).
