Bali Holidays
Bali can be one of the most exciting and relaxing holidays you'll take. It's easy to see why it's a firm favourite with the team! From Hiking up Mount Batur at sunrise to chilling on the idyllic beaches in the Gili islands, there's something for everyone!
Bali can be the perfect Honeymoon destination with some of the most luxurious resorts, while Seminyak offers a great mix for families, from shopping to spas!
The Resorts
Ubud
Centrally located, the cultural capital is the heartbeat of Bali. You'll find the option to cycle in the rice fields, trek to the top of Mount Batur for sunrise, or simply chill out at one of the beautiful hotels, enjoying breath-taking views.
From this central location you have access to some of the most iconic Bali experiences. Make sure you head to Mount Batur for the sunrise hike! It's an early morning but there's nothing quite like watching the sun rise over the Indonesian Islands. If Instagram is more your thing then there are a number of Bali swing trips available, strap yourself into the seat and swing out over the green canopy!
Gili Islands
Getting to the islands is an experience in itself, jump on board the boat and head across the waves. If you're not the best on a boat this can be a rocky experience! It depends what island you're going to but this trip can be a few hours.
If you're up for it, take a seat on the top deck and channel your inner pirate!
Motorised vehicles aren't common on the islands, so expect to jump on a horse and cart to get around! If this isn't for you many hotels offer bike hire or the islands are easy to walk around.
If a visit to the Gili Islands is at the end of your trip please plan a night on the mainland before your flight home. The boats tend to run on “island time” and we don't want you to miss your flight!
Gili Trawangan
Gili Trawangan (known as Gili T) is the party island - the eastern side of the island is where the hustle and bustle of the party begins. Head round to the west of the island for the beach swings, newer hotels and a calmer atmosphere.
If a diving holiday appeals to you then this is the perfect place to start. Head out on a dive boat or simply snorkel off the beach to experience swimming with the turtles.
Gili Meno
Popular with honeymooners this quieter island is your own desert island. The smallest of the Gilis, this gorgeous island has a calming environment with all the snorkelling and diving possibilities of the bigger islands.
Gili Air
Gili Air combines Gili T and Gili Meno perfectly. It's a blend of relaxation and excitement. The sandy beach is backed by a line of restaurants and beach huts, where you will get the perfect dinner view.
Uluwatu and Jimbaran
With the long coastline, this area of Bali is an experienced surfers paradise. If surfing has always been on your to do list then head down to the local beach for a beginners lesson. For something a little slower paced are several scenic greens for golfers to enjoy.
You can find some beautiful hotels in Uluwatu, overlooking the limestone cliffs - the perfect place to book a couple of nights of luxury.
Both Jimbaran and Ulutawu are famous for their beautiful sunsets.
Sanur
Popular with tourists, you'll find everything you need in Sanur. Perfect for a family break with a selection of shops and restaurants, the protected bay ensures calmer waters, making it ideal for families.
Seminyak
With its high end boutiques, markets and buzzing restaurant scene, Seminyak is the perfect pick for families. The sunset scenes along the beach and amenities at the beautiful hotels are enough to keep everyone entertained.
Nusa Dua
Along the southern coast, this beautiful resort offers a quieter pace of life, with luxury resorts and shopping. It is quieter in Nusa Dua but the gorgeous beaches do attract the crowds.
Canggu
Just north of Seminyak is the up and coming area of Canggu, a little more undiscovered. You’ll get the laid back beach vibes popular with locals and tourists.
Food in Bali
Hot and spicy is a recurring theme in Indonesian cooking - there are a lot of Asian influences with local twists. On the islands fresh BBQ grills with the latest catch are a must do - you can often pick the fish and have it cooked in front of you. Consider booking a street food tour or cooking class to get an insight into traditional cuisine.
Nasi Goreng is a classic dish you can find throughout the country, this consists of fried rice with shredded chicken, prawns, egg and vegetables. It's the perfect comfort food!
Bali Family Holidays
Whether your family is up for adventure or just wanting to relax, Bali has something for all of you. If you have 2 weeks then split your time between 2 locations on the mainland for a relaxing break with a bit of variety. If you are up for more of an adventure then split your time between Ubud, the islands and the mainland for an adventurous approach.
Whether you want to be always on the go, trekking in the padi fields, learning how to surf, or if you want to head to the shops and relax with a cocktail (or mocktail) on the beach, our consultants can create the perfect trip for you.
Bali Budget Holidays
If you're trying to keep to a lower budget then there are some amazing homestay or hostel accommodation options in Bali. You will often still get an amazing pool but with a more local experience. When choosing your accommodation in Bali, think about having a mix of guest houses and hotels. Talk to the team about the options available.
Bali Touring Holidays
With scenic beaches and beautiful temples Bali is the perfect touring holiday. Why not talk to the team about a multicentre trip to take in as much of this beautiful country as possible?
The different areas of Bali all have their own unique personalities. Jump on a motorbike or moped to explore the mainland. The islands have their own quirky ways to get around, from horse and cart to tuk tuk, you can immerse yourself.
Each corner of Bali has something to see. A classic itinerary will split time between the monkeys and culture in Ubud, relaxing at one of the beautiful beaches and a quick hop over to the islands for your own slice of paradise. Contact the team to chat through your perfect trip!
Wildlife Holidays
Watch out for the Monkeys! They are quick and agile. Monkeys can be found all over Bali, from the top of Mount Batur to the temples and Monkey forest. Remember that while these animals are cute they are wild animals with quick reactions and taste for treats. Please don't touch the monkeys unless you have had the rabies vaccine.
In the Gili islands you have the opportunity to jump on board a dive boat and explore the reefs, or just grab your snorkeling gear and you should be able to swim with the turtles off the beach.
Nusa Lembongan is a known hot spot for Manta Rays. Take a trip out on board a long boat to swim with these beautiful creatures. Swimming with these gentle giants will be a lifelong memory.
The majestic dinosaur that is the Komodo dragon can be found on Flores, near Komodo island. A sightseeing trip will give you the opportunity to spot the Komodo Dragon, following tracks with a local guide. If you're lucky you may even spot a whale or dolphin that inhabit the surrounding waters.
When visiting any animal sanctuary please check with your hotel or agent to ensure they are adhering to wildlife guidelines and are not just a tourist attraction.

To gain entry into Bali you will need your return air ticket, your passport with at least 6 months validity left to go and your visa if indeed you require one.
When to go
The best time to visit Bali is from April to October. This is the dry season with lots of sun, perfect for snorkeling, relaxing and adventuring. Remember Bali is very much a year round destination, so if budget is key for you it's worth considering the “low season”. The rain can bring some welcome relief from the heat and a nice, cool change!
Solo travel in Bali
If you’re a solo traveller but looking for a group holiday we can help. We have some small group guided tours, don’t worry! They’re not the traditional stuffy tours of the 1980s!. These are modern cycling or trekking tours with plenty of free time, other solo travellers and guide. Contact our team to find out more.
