Dubai Holidays

There is nothing quite like a holiday in Dubai

Dubai Holidays

Dubai is a city that breaks records for fun. Home to the world’s tallest building, largest shopping mall and biggest choreographed fountain, Dubai lives up to its nickname of the ‘Las Vegas of the Middle East’.

Let The Holiday People help you plan your Dubai holiday. This city glitters with marvels, and our travel experts know it inside out. Whether you want a luxury all inclusive hotel in Dubai, or an exciting Dubai city break, we can help you build the perfect itinerary.

Dubai’s luxurious beach resorts are sensational and plentiful, scattered across purpose built islands and sweeping stretches of sand. Or perhaps the buzz of downtown appeals more - skyscrapers mingled with a maze of souks, giant shopping centres and a ski slope in the middle of the desert are all at your doorstep.

We have broken down the best neighbourhoods for you to choose from!

Jumeira

The most well known resort area of Dubai, Jumeirah Beach has undergone a makeover in recent years. Jumeirah takes in the public Jumeirah Open Beach, the fascinating Madinat Jumeirah - which means ‘old Arab village’ and the very upmarket Jumeirah Beach Residence zone. JBR is known for its white sands and azure waters, as well as water sports, boutiques, bistros and several high end resorts. There is a convenient tram that links the area to the Dubai Marina and the city metro.

The Palm

Also known as Palm Jumeirah island, this man made archipelago may well first be visible from your window on the plane - the islands form the shape of a palm tree, which is a spectacular sight. It offers some of the most expensive resorts in the world, but aside from this is fairly underwhelming to the average tourist. Extensive construction seems never-ending, and the unique design of the Palm is best viewed from the air. Helicopter trips are a highlight!

If you do decide to visit, the Monorail will take you out to the furthest reaches.

Dubai Creek

More of a river than a creek, the hotels lining its shore offer a very convenient location to holiday in Dubai. One of the most historic and atmospheric parts of the city, Dubai Creek is well connected with its plethora of water taxis (abras) and proximity to the main roads. If you are luck enough to have a water view from your hotel room, you can admire the graceful dhow boats contrasting with the twinkling lights of the city.

Downtown

There is no distinct city Centre in Dubai, but this area is conveniently located between the new and old parts of the city. It is dominated by the world’s tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa. It is within walking distance to the Emirates Mall, meaning there will be no end of dining and entertainment options at your disposal. The new Dubai Canal bisects the area, which connects to Dubai Creek.

Deira

Known as the ‘old’ part of Dubai, this area is a great option for those seeking a more authentic city based experience. There are plenty of decent, low cost accommodation options to choose from and it is only 15 minutes to the airport - a great Dubai stopover option. Head to the maze of spice and gold souks and be prepared to haggle.

The UAE is a Muslim country which follows Islamic laws. Dubai seems modern and liberal, however tourists are advised to dress appropriately and avoid drawing attention to themselves with outlandish behaviour. Homosexuality is illegal, though most high end, international hotels will accommodate shared bedding arrangements.

Dubai has close links with Abu Dhabi, so if you are looking for an exciting way to fill your time, it is just an hour away. Ride the fastest rollercoaster in the world at Ferrari World theme park, explore amazing water parks or you can head out to the desert on a 4WD safari, complete with a bedouin tent BBQ and belly dance performance after!

Whatever you are after, a Dubai holiday will deliver!

Dubai All Inclusive Packages

If you’re looking for a hassle free getaway, then a Dubai all inclusive package will be perfect. It will also make budgeting a breeze. There are many all inclusive hotels in Dubai that will take luxury to the next level, and deliver you a holiday to remember.

With its infinite good weather, there is never a bad time to opt for an all inclusive package in Dubai. Unwind by the pool with a handcrafted cocktail menu, try some watersports out on your resort’s private beach, and dine at a different restaurant every night. Some packages will even include spa treatments!

All inclusive in Dubai will offer you peace of mind that all of your essentials are paid for, and you can save your spending money for fun things, like souvenirs, tours and making amazing memories.

Resorts and hotels often have deals and offers which will give free upgrades, from B&B to half board, or half board to all inclusive. Speak to our travel experts to find out what the best deals are for a Dubai all inclusive package.

Dubai Honeymoons

If you choose a romantic honeymoon in Dubai, you will fall in love with the energy and glamour of this vibrant city. During the day you can explore the glitzy malls and boutiques in the city, or chill out on sugar sand beaches.  Exotic nights dining under the stars and enjoying the shisha bars await come nightfall. Partake in a Friday traditional bottomless brunch and then head into the desert for a taste of the Bedouin culture. Walk hand in hand through the Miracle Garden, then retire back to your hotel for a couples spa treatment.

Floating breakfasts are an Instagram must, and are offered by many of the high end resorts.

Family Holidays in Dubai

Family holidays are all about spending time with your loved ones, creating memories, relaxing together  and adventure seeking. A Dubai family holiday will tick all of these boxes.

We can offer your plenty of family friendly, award-winning resorts that boast amazing facilities, and a dedicated childrens’ programme of activities. Kids will be spoilt for choice with the array of things to do, including theme parks, sight seeing and taking in the culture in the souks and grand mosques.

Children will be in their element at the ‘Dubai Parks & Resort’ which is quickly becoming a must visit attraction in Dubai.

The city is home to an array of world class water parks which will appeal to all ages. Thrilling slides for the older ones, and water playgrounds for the little ones will fill another fun day of your family holiday in Dubai.

Warm weather, plenty of Western food options, a warm welcome and endless things to do make Dubai perfect for your family holiday.

Cheap Dubai Holidays / Dubai On a Budget

Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to visit Dubai on a budget. The public beaches are free, so you can sunbathe next to someone staying in a high end resort and have the same experience.

There are plenty of modern hotels that offer rooftop pools and other facilities for a low cost - £30 a night will get you an Ibis Hotel or similar in the vibrant Deira area with good links to the airport.

Make use of the metro and bus system to get around - the city is well connected.

It is free to gaze up at the Burj Khalifa - as nice as it is to go up to the top, it does have a high price tag. While you’re at the bottom of the building, take in the free fountain show as well!

If you eat in local restaurants in the older part of town, you will find authentic and delicious food for a fraction of the cost of the high end restaurants dotted around the city. Fast food is also plentiful and reasonably priced.

Find cheap treasures in the gold souks, and wander through the fish market and spice souks - it’s free to soak up the atmosphere.

Best Time to Go to Dubai

Dubai’s desert climate makes it a year round destination. The best months to visit Dubai are September and April, when the weather is warm but not hot.

The summer months from May to August mean the temperature will soar, bringing less tourists and lower accommodation prices.

November to March is winter in the northern hemisphere, so this brings a pleasant climate, ideal for outdoor activities but possibly a little chilly for the beach, particularly in December and January. Temperatures range from 14 to 27 degrees.

Ramadan normally takes place during April or May. The city often empties as locals leave for cooler shores, making it a good time for tourists to visit. Restaurants will be open to tourists but in general, eating or drinking in public is frowned upon during daytime hours.
