Lopud Holidays

Lopud is just off the coast lying slightly north from Dubrovnik, it's about a one hour ferry ride away.

The best time is very similar to Dubrovik from spring through to Autumn. July and August can be hot of course whilst the months of May, June and September are warm with fewer tourists. 

Lopud is one of the smaller islands on the Dalmatian coast for holiday makers. Being traffic free gives Lopud a huge advantage to attract families.

The pace of life here is slow, you can wish the days away on the beach, at a harbourside restaurant, walking the island or takin boast rides. This is the place to come if you're looking for a week of rest and relaxation.

There are a number of hiking routes in Lopud which make for great days out exploring the island. As the island is traffic free it is of course very safe.

Lopud is a great destination for a relaxing family holidays. Kids will love the golden sandy beach of Sunj and of course, as there is no traffic it is a safe island. There are a number of family friendly apartments and a small number of restaurants at which to eat.

From Lopud it is also easy to get to and visit Dubrovnik for a day as well as some near by islands.

Here are some suggestions of what to do when visiting Lopud:

1. Hiking - there are loads of trails.

2. Try paddle baording - the waters are calm and there are local instructors and classes.

3. Try Sea Kayaking - as above!

4. Visit Sunj Beach - a beautiful large golden sandy beach, great for a day out.

5. Visit the Franciscan Monastery built in the 15th centaury.

6. Spend a day exploring the island.

7. Take a day trip to Dubrovnik

8. Take a day trip to neighbouring islands
